Rochester NY’s native, Ben Buechel, shares his birthplace in common with George Eastman’s invention of film, and the Kodak community at large. Ben’s passion for photography has been cultivating since 1990.
I received early photography lessons alongside my mother at Monroe Community College, and again in high school. Those foundational experiences, such as learning to master light meters and develop film in a darkroom, sparked a lifelong love for capturing moments in time through photography.
Today, I almost exclusively shoot an Olympus SLR camera with 12 megapixels. It has an amazing image sensor and lens, that produces beautiful and natural looking photographs.
Sometimes I use a Panasonic camera, also with 12 megapixels, which is great for street photography and low-light conditions. Either way, I also have a variety of lighting solutions from reflectors to strobes, and speedlights for any occassion.
